I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I only knew that I wanted to help people. My family also emphasized how important it is to try to help others, especially those who really need it.
When I was in law school, most of the time classes were about various hypothetical situations and how the law applied to it. But what I really enjoyed were my clinical experiences – helping real people with real problems in the real world. I worked in the Criminal Defense Clinic, helping low-income people deal with criminal charges.
After graduation from St. Louis University School of Law, I knew that I wanted to keep helping real people and I took a job with the Missouri State Public Defender. For 10 years, I got to help clients and their families navigate the ups and downs of a criminal case. I loved meeting my clients, learning about their lives, and advocating for them in the courtroom.
Now working in family law at Bardol Law Firm, I get the chance to help clients deal with the rough and tumble world of family court. I bring the same passion that I had in criminal court to family court and I always want to get the best result possible for each and every one of my clients.
I believe that none of us should be judged only on the worst thing we have ever done and that everyone deserves a second chance. I’m passionate about my work and fighting for my clients, no matter what other people are saying about them.
Outside of the office, I spend time with my significant other, our rescue dog Lily and working on home construction projects (finishing the basement right now!).
