What being on this list means, and what it does not
A mediator on this list has certified to the court that they meet its qualifications for mediating the issues in a dissolution or a motion to modify, which covers property, financial arrangements, custody and parenting. They are attorneys, or they hold a graduate degree in counseling, psychology, social work or a related field. That is all it means. In the court’s own words, the Family Court takes no position as to the relative skills of any individual listed as a Court Approved Mediator, and it does not take responsibility for the services they provide.
