Meet Mikayla:

Mikayla Butler is not an attorney who is easily intimidated.

She is confident, direct, highly prepared, and willing to push when a case requires it. Whether she is negotiating with opposing counsel, preparing for a contested hearing, or standing up in court, Mikayla is comfortable taking a firm position and defending it.

Mikayla knew before entering law school that she wanted to practice family law. Her interest was deeply personal. Experiences in her own childhood showed her how profoundly the family court system can affect a family—and how different the outcome can feel when someone has a strong advocate standing beside them.

Watching her mother navigate difficult circumstances without that kind of support shaped the attorney Mikayla ultimately decided to become.

She wanted to be the lawyer who would step in, understand what was happening, take the problem seriously, and do something about it.

Mikayla began working in family law while she was still in law school and has been immersed in the practice ever since. From the beginning, she treated becoming an effective litigator as something that had to be earned. She spent early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays learning cases, working with clients, preparing for court, and developing the skills necessary to advocate effectively when the stakes are personal.

That work ethic remains a defining part of her practice today.

Mikayla is exceptionally focused when preparing a case. She wants to know the facts, understand the weaknesses in the other side’s position, anticipate what may happen next, and be prepared to respond. She is quick to identify the real point of a dispute and is not afraid to confront difficult issues directly.
